The first collection of french short stories directly inspired by Montessori pedagogy.
Emy and her sister are delighted with their treasures brought back from the library. They make themselves comfortable to read, but Emy, the youngest, does not want to read on her own. She asks her mother, sister and father, but none are available to read to her. Her mother suggests that she read for herself since she can read but the little girl doesn't want to. Her mother then understands the importance of her daughter's request and ends up coming to read to her when she is available. But the latter must return to the kitchen to finish the meal. Emy is very frustrated:she wants to know the rest of the story but still doesn't want to read. It was then that she found a note on the floor. It's mom who wrote him a little note. Emy reads it and then realizes that Mom really wants to know the rest of the story as well. Emy then rushes to the kitchen to read the story to her mother.
